Mother, Designer, CEO

WHAT’S YOUR MOTTO?

Negativity is noise.

WHAT’S ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?

Photos of my boys, fresh flowers, the latest book on my reading list…

WHAT GIVES YOU GOOSEBUMPS?

The stories I hear from the women entrepreneurs I meet through our Foundation. Many of them are working two jobs and raising children—while building a business. Their tenacity and determination are extraordinary.

WHAT IS YOUR BAD DAY BACKUP PLAN?

Take a moment, back up, breathe and then dive back in. My mother, Reva, taught me that “if the cup isn’t full, add water.” When you get down to it, there is actually no such thing as an unsolvable problem.

WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR?

My family. My health.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?

To me, success is the ability to create change.

BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?

“Family is everything”—from my mom who set a high bar.

BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

Believe in yourself.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW THAT YOU ARE EXCITED ABOUT?

Our new Sport collection—performance activewear is something I have wanted to do for almost six years and we have been working on the collection for the last three. I get to approach design in a completely new and fresh way.

WHAT DID YOUR 8-YEAR-OLD SELF LOVE DOING?

Spending time outdoors with my three brothers—playing tennis, swimming, climbing trees…anything that made my clothes dirty and left my knees scratched. I was a tomboy.

IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE MAGIC POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I’d like to make time stand still. There never seems to be enough of it. They say time is money but the truth is time is way more valuable than money.

WHAT 3 THINGS WOULD YOU GRAB IN A FIRE?

That’s easy: my three boys—Henry, Nick and Sawyer.

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE – YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE?

Leaving my job at LVMH to stay at home with my boys—I had three under the age of four. It was hands down the hardest and yet the best decision I ever made.

FAVORITE WORD?

Ambition.

FAVORITE WORK OF ART?

Anything by Matisse.

FAVORITE BOOK?

One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez.
