Amanda Chantal Bacon

The founder of Moon Juice, a wellness juice and food company, discusses why it’s ok to not always be perfect.

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?

Love.

WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU LEARNED IN HIGH SCHOOL?

That it’s just fine to be a moody, C-student who’s always sneaking away…

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST PET PEEVE?

When I feel myself contract and become reactionary.

WHAT DO YOU WEAR THAT MAKES YOU FEEL STRONG?

My favorite pair of vintage Levi’s I’ve had since a teen.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE WITH A BROKEN HEART?

Just let it break and ache, don’t resist, it won’t last forever. I like to think of it as an exercise in heart expansion.

WHAT IS ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?

A selenite wand that I sweep over my body and face after a day of screen time, 15 half-read books, a box of dream dust sachets, a carafe of water, and a bowl of black beach sand that I stick incense in.

WHAT GIVES YOU GOOSE BUMPS?

Looking deeply into my lover’s eyes and not averting eye contact when I start to feel the urge to.

WHAT IS YOUR BAD DAY BACKUP PLAN?

It’s ok to have an off day, I try to not attach to it and just observe my negative mind.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SUCCESS?

After reaching markers that I once thought would deliver the experience of feeling successful and not skipping a beat, I’ve realized that success is being able to get still and feel the joy.

WHAT MAKES YOU FORGET TO EAT?

Nothing, edible earth plants make my world go round.
